  • Be physically fit and able to work from ladders and platforms / low level scaffolding.
  • Experienced using high water pressure washing equipment.
  • Be able to work un-supervised as well as part of a team.

Job Description

Based at our Wetherill Park Depot, you will be responsible for:

  • The core focus and target will be to drive and grow the Sales of both Spare and Wear parts.
  • You will need to lead from the front, communicating with our existing client base to improve our repeat order business as well as strategically targeting new untapped customers with your strong Sales acumen.
  • Your strong negotiation and Sales skills will be deployed to close orders and your administration capabilities will ensure the company delivers on the promise.
  • Interpreting and handling Spare & Wear parts demands from both external clients and our own service department.
  • Communicating closely with customers, following up outstanding quotations, orders and related information.
  • Forecasting Spare & Wear parts levels in accordance with the demands of our existing installed base, new Capital Sales, Used Equipment Sales and Rental Fleet.
  • Any other job-related tasks required from time to time.

The Applicant

To be considered for this role you will have a proven:

  • The role will suit someone with a strong proven and natural ability towards professional Sales and Business Development coupled with sound knowledge of Spare Parts sales from within the Heavy Equipment sector. Min: 5 years’ experience in a similar role will be desirable.
  • Strong, proven “hands on” office based Spare Parts Sales acumen coupled with strong commercial awareness and ability to professionally communicate with clients, suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
  • Disciplined, structured with a good memory and has a strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret Spare Parts data from both digital and hard copy sources.
  • Excellent telephone manner and English-speaking skills coupled with the ability to work alone and establish themselves as an integral and key member of the SMA team.
  • Be able to perform in a dynamic environment with a high level of multi-tasking capabilities whilst always maintaining a professional attitude.
  • Excellent computer skills. An understanding of ERP / NetSuite and/or a similar inventory control systems would be a distinct advantage.
  • You will need to be a quick leaner being capable of understanding and interpreting spare parts data to provide fast response times to both clients and suppliers.
  • It is expected you will have the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy & attention to detail with first class record keeping and document control.
  • Ability to read and interpret heavy equipment parts manuals and schematics
  • Customer service, complaint handling and conflict resolution skills are imperative for this role.
  • Ability to create and present reports to senior management on a frequent and timely basis
  • Can do attitude

In your role as MAINTENANCE FITTER, primarily you will be responsible for service, maintenance, repair, and technical fault finding in the field and at various SMA facilities, working on Mobile and Fixed Crushing, Screening & Conveying equipment, Australia wide.

You will split your time between preparing new, used, and rental fleet equipment prior to delivery to clients and supporting installed equipment in the field.

The successful applicant will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • Trade qualified within preference given to the Electrical, Hydraulic and Mechanical trades
  • Excellent written and communication skills in the English language
  • Good working knowledge of Crushing, Screening and Conveying equipment
  • Understands the working conditions and has a proven working history from within a heavy equipment service environment, such as, the Quarrying, Mining, or allied industries
  • Understands and accepts the challenges of the working environment, activities, demands and needs of a busy service department within the heavy equipment, quarry, and mining sectors
  • Electrical, Hydraulic and PLC control trouble shooting experience
  • Good working experience of processes and procedures related to documenting service work to capture costs and parts usage.
  • Can work in a team environment and alone in a safe, professional, and proper manner
  • Be prepared to travel at short notice. There is a high level of frequent travel and on-site work expectancy with this role
